Sound Healing for the Neurodivergent Soul

Calming the chaos through vibration, rhythm, and rest

If you’ve ever felt like your nervous system runs on high volume—like the world is just too loud, too fast, too much—you’re not alone.

For those of us living with ADHD, Autism, or PTSD, it’s common to carry a sense of overwhelm that never quite switches off. It might show up as sound sensitivity, chronic tension, emotional exhaustion, or trouble sleeping. Maybe you’ve tried traditional routes that left you feeling misunderstood. Or maybe your body just doesn’t respond to talk therapy alone.

This is where sound healing can gently step in.

✨ Why Sound Healing Helps Neurodivergent Minds

Sound healing isn’t just a “woo” practice—it’s a nervous system intervention.

Our bodies are made of water and energy, and sound travels beautifully through both. When crystal singing bowls, chimes, or a human voice create resonance, your body doesn’t just hear it—it feels it.

Here’s what happens during a sound bath or session:

  • Your brain waves begin to slow, shifting from busy beta states into calm alpha or even theta states (like a deep daydream).

  • Your vagus nerve gets stimulated, which helps your body downshift into rest-and-digest mode.

  • Your muscles soften, your heart rate settles, and your breath deepens—often without you needing to do anything.

For people with sensory overload, overstimulation, or trauma-stuck bodies, this can feel like an exhale you didn’t know you were holding.

🧠 What It Can Support

In my practice, I’ve seen sound healing ease:

  • Auditory overstimulation and sound sensitivity (yes, paradoxically!)

  • Panic attacks or hyperarousal states

  • Executive dysfunction or decision fatigue

  • Sleep disturbances and nighttime restlessness

  • Feeling “floaty,” ungrounded, or chronically anxious

The sound doesn’t “fix” you—it meets you, co-regulates with you, and helps you soften into presence.

🌿 What a Session Looks Like

You don’t have to talk. You don’t have to explain your neurotype or trauma history.

You’re invited to simply lie back (or sit, or even fidget!) while I guide you through a gentle journey of sound. I use crystal bowls tuned to the body’s energy centers, a few light chimes, my voice, and trauma-informed language that always respects your pace and comfort.

Sessions can be:

  • Private (just you, or with a trusted person)

  • Group-based (laid-back and inclusive, often in local community spaces)

  • In-person or sometimes virtual

🌌 You Deserve to Rest, Too

If you’ve been masking your whole life, working ten times harder to look “okay” in a world that wasn’t built with you in mind—you deserve a place where your system can exhale.

Sound healing isn’t a cure-all, but it is a safe pause. A moment of regulation. A space where your neurodivergence isn’t a problem—it’s simply honored.
